hitchi 47 wont show up on windows when in mode b

heyy i was wondering what the hell is going on i flashed a hitachi 46 before but now im trying to flash a hitachi 47 i get it into mode B with the slax method and when i try to load up windows it doesnt wanna load windows the loading on windows just keeps going and going and never wants to load but when it wants to load ( sometimes ) lol i see it in device manager but it has a yellow exclimation mark next to it like if it has a problem and doesnt show the drive


but! i tryed to load the drive in mode B with vista it shows the drive and i try to flash it and vista is very slow and i have to wait for it to respond but when using vista normally ( without loading it with the hitachi in mode B ) and i was wondering wats going on?!?!?

please help also im using a VIA VT6421A if that halps and i have two slax disks ( slax 2.1 and slax 2.0 alpha1 ) both make the drive in mode B to i dunno

i dont use slax to get in modeB

when windows is loading you do open and close the drive 4 or 5 times right.

yes i do and windows just keeps on trying to load but 1 time it was taking forever i just shut down the xbox and then windows loaded so i dont kno wtf is going on its like the drive is making windows not load


also i open and close it many times and windows just doesnt wanna boot for shit but when it does it doesnt show on the computer

The only thing I use slax for is 78 drives. Everything else, I use a connectivity kit. You might try a different PC maybe? I know that sounds weird, but I've seen that make a difference, even on one that previously flashed fine before.

well no luck trying it on another computer and what is ACPI is that in the bios of my mobo? i have a ASUS A8S-X mobo and also and should i just use the slax 2.0 disk i have over the 2.1 thank you very much i appricate your help very much

ACPI is the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface. On modern PC's, it's basically two fold. One setting in the BIOS, the other in the operating system. If its interfering with slax in getting the drive into mode b, you'll have to find it in the BIOS and turn it off. Just remember to turn it back on after you try it with it turned off. I've never had to do that, but then again, I use an old PC that doesn't even support ACPI.
