You were right.

Same problem.

Is it possible to just restart now, and run the Samtool command? If I'm getting a correct orig.bin, cant I just do these things separately?

Then do a 3rd restart and run iFlash?

ok man this is what i found.
i have never done it this way but its strait forward enough.

unzip the firmware v1.3 i picked the 12x double click to open the folder
then put a COPY of your orig firmware bin there
then doubble click the "make ixtreme firmware"
it will build your hacked ixtreme firmware
after it is done it will look like this.
Image
then take a copy of that hacked firmware and put it in you usb boot drive in the backup folder in the same as the orig firmware is.
open backup folder
open ser # 1234567
open ser#12345
in there put your new hacked firmware.

then do the same thing as before but do the flash
fsam 1234567 12345 (i think is the command)
then the 10 sec trick
the same steps that you did to get the dump.

ive never done this just to let you know
BUT I THINK IT SHOULD WORK.

don't lose that orig firmware

Looks like XP is needed for this little trick.

I can't seem to take my ORIG.bin file and run the flash program in the 12x folder.

Cofree, if I sent you my file, could you fix it and then send it back for me to drop on to the USB device?

I'll be up for a while. Thanks again,

Uzi

It worked!

Thank you for all of your sincere help, Cofree. You are an absolute inspiration that there are truly nice people out there.

You gain very little from pouring over all of my ridiculous questions and posts.

I don't think I had to wait more than 20 minutes for the NUMEROUS replies you gave.

Creating the HACKED.BIN bios file outside of the dos program and then running iFlash seperately works flawlessly.

And this proves a working method for Toshiba-Samsung ms28 drives on Windows Vista.

Thanks again.

If I ever have any other questions, I'm coming here first. And rest assured I'll be forwarding many people to this website.

Talk soon,
UZI
