when you change it you should see it find at least your cd/dvd drive that is in your pc

Yeah it finds mt computers cd drive bur not the benq.
Is it because of the type of Benq?

no

there is something wrong with drivers or chipset
if you are running a via
i still think your best bet would be iprep
ive not messed with the new iprep
but
it looks like its not getting in the dvd drive

Ahhh man, Such a pain when stuff like this happens.
Any idea where the ixdef is for iprep? Ill try using a older iprep.

the new iprep should be fine and then you should not have to mess with the def file to load the latest firmware

Sorted. I used Iprep 12.2.1 and not iprep 12.2.2 and it all went smooth. cheers for your help.
