Does it read original games? If your trying a backup and it's stuck at reading it could be the media or laser.

Also you shouldnt need to disable driver enforcement on a 32 bit system. XP, or win 7.

they are original games. it will say reading then open tray.i dont know what else to try. can my anti-virus software be causeing me to download an incomplete file or a corupt file?is there a better ixtremebin for the ms28 that may help?

Your AV wont say anything about the firmware files, there is no reason for it to.

What version of ixtreme did you flash? Does your console read dvd's?

it wont pllay or read anything now, dvd or game. the ixtreme i used was ix161 samsung.bin with iprepv1.79
can i try to reinstall the firmware or do i need a new drive?

You can try to reflash the firmware.

If it doesnt read anything at all you may have damaged the drive while connecting it to your computer, hopefully you just had a bad flash. If you had a bad flash though you'd get E64 error and your console wouldn't boot.

i am going to get a new drive. which drive is the easiest to flash?
