if what this means is you only have the key from your orig firmware.
you have to use firmware toolbox v4.6 to put your key in the firmware of the new drive you have.
have a look at this.
http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... =110&t=881" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
if its possible i would get the same dvd drive that came in your 360 so you dont have to get into the spoofing thing.

Download the most recent version of the iXtreme Firmware and use a program called Maximus' Fimrware Toolbox to inject the key from your original BenQ DVD-ROM drive into the hacked firmware. Then follow the instrcutions in this post:
viewtopic.php?f=63&t=1634&start=0#p9672" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Ignore the part about spoofing to a Samsung. Since you are replacing the BenQ with a BenQ, no spoofing is necessary. Here's a guide for preparing your USB stick with iPrep.

think u have misunderstood me here, i ONLY have the key in NOTEPAD. I DONT have any firmware (original or hacked firware). How EXACTLY would I put my 360 key on another brand/make drive and flash it with the appropriate hacked firmware?
Thanks

The first thing you need to do is create a USB boot disc with iPrep. Does the notepad file contain a valid drive key from your original BenQ drive? If it does, download the original BenQ firmware from here:
http://zkaerfdom.hostwq.net/_menue/Firmware.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Then open up Firmware toolbox. Load up the original BenQ firmware. Copy and paste the drive key from the notepad file into the original BenQ file and hit inject key. Download the latest iXtreme firmware from xbins. Extract it with Winrar. Rename the original BenQ firmware injected with your drive key to orig.bin and place it in the folder for whatever read speed you want flash for the iXtreme Firmware, 8x or 12 is what most people use. Then double click the make firmware file. It will create the firmware for you. Rename it to benq-cfw.bin and play it it in the backups-->1234567-->12345 folder. Then boot into your USB boot disc and run the fben command in iPrep to flash your drive.

That would be to replace a BENQ drive with another BENQ drive, what about if I want to replace a benq drive with a SAMSUNG or a HITACHI drive?
** Same scenario applies: ONLY key in NOTEPAD. NO ORIGINAL FW or HACKED FW ON ORIGINAL DRIVE**

its about the same as sess was saying.
moving will be done with firmware toolbox.
it will put the key in what ever firmware you open in it.
if you are going to be using a different kind of dvd drive.After putting in your key , then you will have to spoof it to report as the drive that was in the console orig.
have a look at these.

Ok guyz, how do I know that I have the right original firmware and version for my drive from this site:
http://zkaerfdom.hostwq.net/_menue/Firmware.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Do I choose one from ' devolution' or 'retail'?

What ever brand of drive you choose to buy to replace this benq with, thats the firmware you need to download. For example. If you choose to purchase a samsung ms-28, then you would need to download the original firmware for the samsung tsh-943a MS-28 drive. Then use firmware toolbox to inject the key and then spoof it to a benq, then download the hacked firmware from xbins, then run the samsung firmware through the make hacked firmware that comes with the hacked firmware, then flash the samsung with the hacked firmware that you injected your benq key into and spoofed to report as a benq. Then it will work fine in the console that the benq drive with that key came from.
If however, you bought another Benq, you would just need to download the original benq firmare, inject the key, make the hacked firmware and flash it. No spoofing would be needed.

You need to make sure that your original firmware that you downloaded and injected your key and such into is named "orig.bin" (without the quotes) and put that into the 12x folder.

the .bin is the extension. I'm 100% sure that the file that you downloaded already had the proper extension and all you had to do was change the file surname to orig. Windows being windows and all, it wants to hide the extension by default.

Year ur right, just had to rename it to 'orig'.
Now do i need to create another folder in '12x' folder name it 'backups'-->1234567--> and put the ietreame firware i created in there?
And put the whole edited version of the hacked firmware in iprep?
