360 Makes Beeping Sound ?

on another link someone else is saying its the hard drive, and another one the PSU, a third said the beep stopped when he had his console vertical instead of lying horizontal!

this is really confusing, think I am going to do some tests when i go home for lunch, remove HDD, stream video see what happens, move the power supply to a ventilated area, put the box to vertical

i have been jinxed with this box!

removed HDD from the caddy, put it in the HDD testing rig at work, gonna run spinrite on it

soon as i turned the test rig on, the hdd beeped!

so its not a speaker, its the actual HDD itself!

been on test for 57mins now, not beeped once apart from the 1st turn on beep

i wonder if there is dodgey power going to the unit, therefore making the drive think its turning off and on every 20 secs

yea
that is what i would do next is try a different power supply
but
i do know that i have
12 360 console hook up at one place or another
and
none of them beep
even when i first power them on.

gonna leave it on test till i go home at 5, then will stand the box vertically and see if that makes a difference like someone reported in one of the links i read, cant see how it would help that much tho!

i always seem to run into problems with everything i try to do on this damm box! may sell it and get another!

ok so moved the box to vertical, no difference, still beeping every 15 seconds

going to need to buy another PSU in order to test this now
