ok all i have a problem with my controller when i us the controller wireless it works great but when i hook up the cord to the controller coming out of the usb port on the 360 to the controller it say to connect the controller the controller is connect it wont werk

a wireless controller is wireless.
the only thing the usb cable is for is charging the battery.

as far as i know.

Thats the PLAY and charge kit ...

So it should be charging the batteries it came with and you should also being able to play.
If I play long and batterie runs low i just plug this first to my controller then into USB @ the front of my console and i can play further while it's charging

the console does not even fully shut down till the controller is fully charged.

maybe you got a bad cable, try and see if you can take it back to the store it came from.

thanx pluto i went to circuit city baught a new cable and battery bam its working cheers i thought i screwed something up when i flashed it i guess i didnt thanx again

Let me try to clarify something for you >> the play & charge kit is simply a charger
when you plug it in the light always flashes red for a few moments // when charging begins it changes to green

It does not sync up a wireless device or change it from a wireless to a usb controller...
it simply recharges the batteries or keeps the power source constant to allow the "wireless" controller to work.

If you are connecting it up & the light status does not shift from red to green you must be using standard batteries instead of the proper re-chargeable battery pack or something!...
if you are using a re-chargeable pack then either the battery is dead or faulty or the cable is faulty

The cable will also power the device without a battery attached - so... remove the battery // the guide button will flash press it once see what happens.

now i took the battery out of the controller with still the cable hook up when i hit start i get nothing

what button i have to press

without the battery n da controller should it still werk cause when the game loads i dont have the battery n da controller the game says hit start and i do it wont do nothing

Press and hold the guide button. My wireless controllers work the same way. When I have the rechargeable battery in and then connect the cable, it still works, it just starts charging the battery as well. If I don't have a battery in, then I connect the cable, it works like a wired controller.

Sounds like you might have a bad cable.
