its a sata cable
it has to plug on a onbo sat port or a pci sata card sata port.
the video shows you how it should be hook up to the ck3
the other end of the sata cable just plugs into the computer
this is the sata card i would get if your computer dont have sata ports
even if it does there is a good chance it wont work for doing your flashing and you would need this card anyway.

The software to do it is, the only thing that will cost you will be if you don't have the required hardware in your pc. As cofree said that card is the best option but if you have compatiable sata ports on your motherboard you should be able to flash it.

You could right click on the "my computer" icon on your desktop, Click properties at the pop up tab, then click on hardware, then device manager then look to see if there are any "scsi and Raid" controllers listed.

They look like this but not necessarily placed there and that colour:


Not all sata ports are compatiable with flashing though which is why it might be better to purchase the card.

unfortunately that still does't mean it's going to work. i recommend as cofree said that you cop that via sata card. . . i also think you should look at cofree's tutorials, it explains everything, you just have to get the required hardware. i started of exactly where you're at right now and i basically watched the tuts until i was well versed and then i got the card and moved forward. first flash was a success, that card is like 12 bills, worth the investment. . . and if you're working with the new lite-on drive you'll need the CK3 Lite as well, you should be good money after having those two things.

you have to get both files and unrar it.
