FWT 4.8 does let you load 1.51 in, I did my 78 with it last night when Jungle Flasher wouldn't play....

That's a really good idea, but I would restore to stock first before you flash/restore to 1.51. If I remember, this is the safest way...

I have a benq drive and I have to say the iprep with the new def's and ixtreme 1.5.1 went like a dream - first it restored my benq then went onto finish up dateing the firmware - what a breeze and cheer pleasure with no freezing software or drive lock-ups or pc lock ups - total quality loved it

Personally, which do you guys find better for flashing, IPREP or Jungle Flasher for Liteon

that's going to be a toss up because some of us prefer iPrep and others jungleflasher, we'll all swear by one or the other. . . im for iPrep

if you are using iprep for flashing the lite-on with the new ixtreme 1.51
you should stop.
there is a bug that a lot of people are having with it.
Klutsh and I are both having trouble with it.

iprep is still the best (in my book) for the benq and the samsung drive

lol! my bad, so wait, once flash with iPrep is the drive okay or are you're saying they're having problems with it during the flashing process? cause i haven't updated a lite-on yet but im a risk taker and im tempted to use iPrep. . .

odds are it will not work for you.
The problem is because the lite-on 1.5 firmware is set to dump out the sata not the usb or com port
this is something dosflash is not set up for.
with the lite-on.

it is with the benq and samsung

I've been using the .43 jungleflasher myself. I can not for the life of me figure out whats causing my lockup problems with JF 1.51

Thank u CoFree for letting us all know about the bug in iprep - could I ask are you doing a tutorial of a Liteon with the new Jungleflasher (hope you don't mind me asking in this thread but I assumed it was kinda in the right place ?)

there is no need to hook up with a com rs232 or a usb to get your info.

im so frustrated and am deciding whether to buy that ck3 or not with my prepaid mastercard

you still need some way to power the drive and a ck3 lite would be the best way to do it.

if that drive has never been flashed with ix 1.5 then you most have a ck3 of some kind

man it is not high on my list of "to do things"
