Go to bootdisk.com and download one of the dos bootable images (i think the windows 98 one will be good to grab) then follow the instructions (or type in cd ms-dos discs in google) when you get to the D:\ prompt type B:\ (or whatever corresponds to your usb) then follow the standard iprep commands.

no as you're only going to use it to boot up dos from (same as using an ms-dos start up floppy) good luck. ps if the D:\ prompt changes to B:\ you could type in dir and the usb stick files should show on screen.

You may find that although it shows up as drive G in windows it might be recognised as B in dos. You also need to type the :\ after you type in the letter. So it would be B:\ (or whatever corresponds to your usb drive, might be a bit of trial and error. You'll know if its changed as the D:\ or A:\ prompt will change then type dir and press enter the usb files will show up.

sorry for being a pain but ive tryed a few letters and thers really only 1 that keeps coming up with a error its B and the error is (seek error reading) could this mean thats theres no drive there but when i put a different letter in this never comes up, or have i not installed the files right on the usb, or is the usb no good, ive been in the usb and all the files seem to be there.
ive added a screen shot of the usb if thats ok
cheers again leeds

Try the usb in another slot (i tend to use the back ones on the motherboard for anything important as i tend to find the front extension ones a bit buggy at times)

Think thats most of the things exhausted. Have you enabled usb legacy devices in your bios? Whats the model number of your motherboard and i'll have a hunt and see if theres a bios update for it?
Pm'd you again. Try typing dir B: (without the \ and a space between the dir and the B) when you get to the prompt after msdos boots to see if it can access your usb stick before changing the destination letter. If it still can't try formatting it in standard Fat through windows (as opposed to Fat32 which iprep uses) and stick a couple of files on (doesn't matter what) and try again.
Also are you using a smallish stick (2 gb or under) as they're the best ones to use.
I refuse to be beaten..haha
