Yes, you need a Kreon Drive, but since you have an ms28, you can flash it with ixtreme 1.6. The 1 problem with that is you will need to constantly be removing your drive from your xbox, I guess you could buy a blaster, that would work just as well.

it'd be cheaper to buy another samsung or benq drive than to buy a blaster.

True, but it would be easier to flash the drive, and if he were good with hand tools, he could make his own blaster.
