I am using the same port on my card as I did with the BenQ, I am also powering the drive via the 360.

I finally was able to flash my samsung MS-25 with the MS-28 spoof. Thanks for everything sadalius your help was greatly appreciated. My problem was I was typing port number 1 before turning the 360 off because that is what is says to do but I for the heck of it decided to first turn the 360 off, then type port #1, then hit enter, and then turn the 360 back on and then it started reading the banks.

I got another questions, after I finally was able to spoof this drive I was finally able to flash it with samsung Ixtreme 1.4 firmware but I cannot play any backups only originals. I guess is better than before I just don't know why I can't play my backups now even with hacked firmware.

You really didn't need to spoof the drive as it would have worked fine as an ms-28 anyway, but either way will work fine. If it's playing originals, it should work with backups. This has now turned into a media thing. What kind of media are you using and what speed did you burn them at? Have you checked them with xdvdmulleter to see if they are ixtreme compatible? I think this "may" be where your problem might be. If your backups are missing any of the stealth files, ixtreme won't let the backup boot. If you have a friend with a 360 with ixtreme, try booting one of your backups that won't boot in yours and see what happens. If it boots, then your new drive may be more picky over the media it likes. If it doesn't, then you might have to re-rip them and use mulleter to autofix them if they are in the mulleters database.

Hello Cofree & Sadalius, yes my backups are good they were done with my kreon with latest firmware and with XBC latest version 2.7 and they all work fine on my 360 with BenQ & Ixtreme 1.4. When I try to create my own hacked firmware using the spoof original.bin with the samsung ixtreme 1.4 package it comes up as ix14.bin and when I tried to load it with iprep it says not valid firmware. I just loaded the samsung ixtreme 1.4 12X firmware that came with the package not the one that I created, maybe that is my problem. Its just that on my 360 with BenQ I have never had to transform my own original.bin into a hacked firmware I had always use the one that comes with the hacked firmware package and I never had any problems with it.

You wouldn't need to load the hacked firmware you created in iprep, but if you open iprep and click tools and then click check for updates and let it install the updated definition file, it shouldn't do that "not a valid firmware" anymore. It should be ready to go. All you would have to do is flash that to the drive. Using iprep, all you should have to do is rename it to sam-cfw.bin (I think thats the right file name) and then put that into the proper backup folder on your iprep boot media and flash using the iprep fsam command.

i think im with you .

you can use iprep to flash the spoofed/hacked firmware you make BUT you will need to flash it in using the bad flash restore.
you will build your spoof/hacked firmware then do what this guide says.

iprep will not load your home made firmware
it will tell you that every time.

Thanks Sadalius and Cofree, you guys are awesome and this forum is great!

I can finally play my backups, I think it had something to do with the speed I burned my backups and the speed of my samsung ixtreme firmware. I was not able to run my backups on 12x with the samsung but since I switch to 5x now it works perfectly fine. My BenQ can read just fine at any speed so its just an issue with my samsung drive but who cares I am up running and that's all that matters. Thanks again!

if it wont play any thing not even movies then it could be a bad laser.

It plays movies & originals... not backups! the flash went perfectly.. sometimes it loads backups but it fails somewhere along the lines

I just think it's reading poorly

ok now we are getting some where
how are you doing your backup
what disc are you using and how fast are you doing the burn
burn slow no faster than 2.4x speed

listen m8.. there's nothing wrong with my discs & nothing wrong with my flashing

I have 3 xbox's...
1 elite downstairs with a benq drive, I flashed it with iprep & xtreme 1.4 : reads all my discs
another upstairs with an ms28, again I flashed with iprep & xtreme 1.4 : reads all my discs

and the box in question which is a launch console & has an ms25... the drive started failing so I replaced it.
I also flashed it with xtreme 1.4 via iprep without problem. The only issue is it's not reading backups properly
also let me add that the drive I took out was flashed & worked without fail before it wore out.

The only reasonable answer I can think of is the laser is defective

Just so you know..
my sata card is via 6421 chipset
my discs are both verbatum & datawrite (all my backups work)
My burner is a pioneer 112D
I only burn @ 2.4x
I always mullet my backups
I use iprep for flashing & xbins for fw & tools ;)
