Well there are lite-on video tutorials here:

viewforum.php?f=195" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I dont know if you want to use iPrep or Jungle, but there is a video on both.

Here are some text guides that you can read:

General JF Guide: viewtopic.php?f=197&t=4356" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Lite-on Flashing Guide (JF): viewtopic.php?f=197&t=3201" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Lite-on PDF Guide: viewtopic.php?f=197&t=3198" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks for the links. I was going to go with JungleFlasher, TBH, i do not really know the difference between the two. i was watching the liteon video where to dude uses ck3 and JF then makes a backup copy of the dump on the thumbdrive before proceeding. It seemed like he knew what was up and wasnt too hard to do.

Yeah, once you know you have a good dump, always backup it up somewhere safe away from you computer...

That key is everything. Even if you destroyed the drive, or the flash didn't take right and you couldn't get your pc to detect it afterwards, you can put a new drive in if you have your DVD key. If you don't have that key and something goes wrong, you have yourself a rather powerful heavy DVD player :p

And if at first you don't succeed..? Order the damn card! :Phttp://tekgems.com/Products/la-pci22-vt6421a.htm
Mirc is a place to chat, post up on the site for help!!!

As for your verbatim's where did you buy them? Your going to want to make sure they are MIS (made in Singapore) the MII(India) and MIP (Philippines) are lower quality, and have a lower success rate.

Not sure on where they were made, here is the ones i got http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817130008" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

hopefully they are good and will work. let me know if you can tell. Also, I have a pioneer 111d burner.

~ ~ Edit: Is there a way to tell by packaging or only off the inner ring printing of the disc? I ask as the office max in my town carries a boat load of verbatim dvd dl's. They go on sale all the time so i can also buy from them if there is a way to tell

About avatar. Yeah, I work about 30 mins from 'The Goonie House'. Great show, i have been using this pic for years on sites.

Well what you bought from new egg is probably MII or MIP. MIS are pretty expensive, a 15 pack is like 35.00 at most places ive seen.

You should still get a high success rate, as long as you burn at a low speed.

The way you can tell its MI(x) is by looking on the label, look for a bunch of chinese and japanese characters and somewhere either above or below that it will say in small font Made In (x) then MI(x)

Was reading the JF manual and it talks about VIA cards drivers and the liteon not liking each other and that tou should remove the VIA drivers so it won't freeze. What step are you supposed to delete them? And do you need to? I ask as I will be using the via card.

~~Edit, here is the via card i got from tekgems. It actually looks different than there pic on ebay. So i thought i would attach a photo to show what i got.

Mine is the exact same except blue, in the pic it was red :P

anyways, yes you should disable your drivers. Go ahead and install them, you may need them if you want to dump your xbox HDD or whatever. Anyways, once installed, right click my computer, go to device manager, find your via card, and right click then disable.

Then go into your windows folder and rename viamraid.sys to something else. Put a 1 at the end or anything...

Its now disabled, go into device manager and enable the driver then reboot your comp. Should be completely fine for flashing. Thats currently what I have done with my comp, and I have had a 100% success rate since.

Got the kit today and flashed it with no problem. I cheaped out and bought the "other" v3 kit off of ebay (my wife was going to kill me if i bought the xecuter one, so i bowed down on this one. I know how to pick the battles as the second 360 was enought to put her over the edge.) So i followed the manufacturers instructions with no problems or lockups.
http://www.tiaowiki.com/w/Extracting_ke ... reezing%29" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Truthfully, i wished i did buy the xecuter one as i have bought many of their old chips in the past. but this one worked out great.

So now i put an original disc in and it worked like a charm. Now i am going make a backup and see how it goes. more info later.

No serial port, but the usb probe (but my pc does not have a serial port). It worked very well, actually.

Just tried out one of my backup games and it worked perfectly.

Thank you all for your help!!!!

One quick question. I was not planning on using this xbox for online playing. With that said, my daughter wanted to make an avatar but it said i have to get the update from live to do so. Going live is the only way to do so or is there another way to get the updates for it, and do i want the updates?

Hopefully that makes sense

Only way to get the updates is xbox live.

Live is pretty safe... I cant say its 100% safe, because its not. iXtreme FW is very good, and very hard to tell apart from the original, most if not all people get banned from the games they play. As long as you make backups from the games you own, you are pretty safe.
