after i reset the computer the window xp loads then just stays blank...but when i turn off the drive it loads the windows...

are these SH-D162D Samsung DVD-ROM Drives easier too use.....and do you flash them just like the xbox360 drives

Wait until windows boots up then power the drive. You can also try powering it while windows is loading. Mounting the drive to your comp is kinda tricky.
The samsung drives are exactly like a normal drive in your computer, except you can read xbox games. To flash it you open up a program and select the drive, and click flash. It takes like 20 seconds, and you dont need any special H/W
Internal drives like those samsung's are made to be flashed with new fw, but the xbox ones are not, thus why its a pain in the ass to flash.
