Does replacing the PCB also replace the LASER because the reason I was swapping the sammy with the hitachi is because the sammy stopped reading disks. Well now that my computer started being retarded it bricked both of the drives... I think I can try the PCB swap, where would I find a good one? Also the video would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Well hitachi's and samsung's use the same laser, so you can pull the laser from the hitachi, and put it into the samsung, and it will work.

Only samsungs and hitachi's have the same laser though...

Instead of buying a new PCB board I decided to order a new drive instead. I wanted to order a BenQ but everywhere I looked I could not find one that could be delivered in a decent amount of time ( 3-4 weeks for delivery ). Instead I ordered a new Hitachi 79FK. I am used to dealing with Hitachi drives so It was a quick spoof and flash and everything turned out okay ! For anyone that needs a good place to order these drives, I recommend thumbmonkey.com, they were fast and the order was accurate. I don't want to post the full link and have this post mistaken as spam.

I would like to know if anyone orders BenQ drives and where would be the best place to get them for the future..
