I don't personally own one with a benq, but I've flash a few for friends that were fully updated to the latest dashboard and none of them flashed a red light, even when re-flashing from benq 1.4 to benq 1.41, so I dunno.

Well thanx. I just found it weird that the third section only flashed red after the second time I flashed it not the the first time. Also that both 360's were updated.

After finding the time to think about this, it makes sense. Your using hte 360 to flash the benq. One of the steps to flashing the benq is an erase procedure. Once that erase is done, the 360 looses complete communication with the drive and therefore flashing the red light. The flashing red light indicates a problem with the dvd drive, could be e64, e65 or e66, but since this is part of the process, it would be completely normal.

That crossed my mind but doesn't the drive lose communication the minute it is plugged into the sata controller? Also it did not do it the first time I flashed it just second time and so on.

It doesn't loose total communication, it still has a line to the flash chip through the power connector. But being a connectivity kit user, this is the only thing that I can think of.

A tiny bit OT, but I noticed earlier you said you use the connectivity kit with an external PSU (I guess the same way CoFree uses the PSU of an old computer that he has sitting on the table top in his video tutorial). If I use a PSU from an old computer to power the connectivity kit...would I need to have the power switch on the kit, or could I just turn the power button to the PSU on and off with the same exact result?
Thanks

yep thats right.that is what you would have to do if you got a kit that did not have a power switch.

Wow, $10 (shipped, I presume?)...that's a steal. I'm not seeing anything on eBay for that cheap. I'm seeing them run for $15-$25 on eBay right now. At that price I might as well just get the Xecuter V2 if the power switch is the main diff. (Out of curiosity, how did the Xecuter Connectivity Kit V1 work if you had it plugged into the same computer that you were getting the SATA connection from?--did you have to turn the whole computer off to get the 360 to reboot?)

the v2 is the way to go i think.
the thing with the v1 was keeping a hit in modB you had to have a different power supply
if the dvd drive lost power it would lose modeB.
the first dvd drive i flash jman and I used a power supply from a xbox1 that we took out.
man
that was the good old days.

Sadalius and Cofree I personally think it was something in the update of December or game for that matter. Like I said I flashed a new BenQ fresh out the box never been played never been updated with a dashboard update or game update. It flashed with no error red flashing light. Updated it played games, next day updated cfw and boom flashing red light. I did not change my pc hardware at all flashed with the same hardware. Same thing with my 360 same procedure flashed last December with ixtreme cfw decided to to change speed flashed again everything fine. Then I updated dashboard. A couple weeks later flashed 1.41 with 8x fix then boom red light. Seems to much of a coincidence.
