Ban Wave

Well, I've been hit. Benq 1.61 = banned.

I was playing Left 4 Dead when it happened. This might sound like bullsh*t to some of you, but I honestly did notice my drive made an uncommon whirring noise about 5 minutes before I got kicked. It kind of spun up faster than usual, like it had a powersurge or something. I have never heard it do that before and the more I think about it, the more sure I am convinced it was m$ querying my drive. I should have went with my gut and disconnected when I had the chance.

I honestly don't think this banwave has anything to do with wave 4, bad backups, activate.iso or pre-release games. I am 100% sure that m$ queried my 1.61 Benq (with a verified wave2 game in the tray) and banned me within minutes. IMHO they can either spot the firmware, or spot a fully stealthed, verified backup disc.

ps, I am not talking sh*t. I wouldn't do that. If you're online and you notice your drive makes an out-of-sorts whirring noise that lasts 2-3 seconds, I would suggest you disconnect from live immediately to avoid recieving the ban and subsequently a crippled system.

ok guys, for those of you who got banned like me and want to get a new console, i went to gamestop and got me an certified pre-owned for only $139. As soon as got home i opened it and looks like new inside plus it got an lite-on 74 in it so when the time is right i know it will be easy to flash. so i recommend it. if you get a brand new box you might run the chance to get one of those lite-on drive that are unflashable so i wold think about this option.

i don't know if its true, but i heard about a program that you install in your pc that connects to the xbl server and its not detected by MS and you tether the xbox to your pc and you can play on line without MS knowing even with banned boxes.

People that are on my list that are still not banned. I really believe that if you ever played a game early your ass is grass. I placed Halo ODST in my box and started it up with no hard drive attached and no internet connected. That was my only slip up... i wonder if that did me in but I will never know.

see he was never BANNED!!! i dont get it there is REALLY SOMTHING WE ALLLLL DONT KNOW!!! AND HE IS NOT TRYING TO TELL ME WHEN I ASKED HIM. so i did a little investigating to see how many people i could find in the United States who were playing Modern Warfare 2 on a modded console for hours and hours and hours and hours!!! heres what i found on JUST HIS FRIENDS LIST

and whats even more funny is allll these people have ALL THERE FRIENDS LIST BLOCKED.

and i talked to everylast one of them and no one would let me in on whats going on.

so there is somthing we dont know!

there is still light at the end of the tunnel we just havent got to it yet.

there must be away around this "ban wave" and these guys know it!

i dont know but i dont have time to look it up and search for it...

i will just wait till this "secret" comes to the light and we all know about it.

in the mean time Microsoft has forced me to go out tomorrow and spend 59.99 on modern warfare2..

think you should really calm down! there's no secret. however microsoft is doing it, it is being done. you get banned when you get banned. people have more than one console in their house thats modded and some of the consoles got banned and some didn't. you're dealing with computers and networks. so there's always going to be a margin of error or delay or whatever. clearly microsoft has targeted modded consoles, meaning it'll happen when it happens. think of it as death like from final destination, the water is flowing, it takes the life when it gets there. some people will cheat it and some people wont but it will happen eventually. and NO ONE is cheating death because they know some secret. everyone for the most part has taken the necessary measures when it came to playing a modded console to go undetected, no one person or persons are doing anything different that's making them immune from this. . .

people stop crying, put that energy into a solution, we don't need anymore of the SAME theories. no one is saying anything any different.

i know we will get through this, thx for that it all makes sense some get it and some dont. i just was wondering why its everyone i know locally and personally are banned! gone.

and these guys been playing this game for a week not one was banned.

but we will figure this out i know it! and it does not help by me always coming on here complaining that theres some "secret" i sound crazy lol.

If all the people you know are getting banned it's probably because you know people with modded consoles because if you subscribe to this site you obviously share the interests of everyone else on this site as well as friends. Second of all every single person on this site is extremely fortunate to have had the experience and satisfaction of a good run. Thirdly we are dealing with one of the most wealthy companies on the planet, M$ has an infinite amount of money that it HAS thrown at this issue. The only thing standing in the way of a solution on both sides of the aisle are resources, time and money and M$'s is nearly infinite, if someone really wanted to F*^K MS lets quit messing around with fighting them and design a private network copy of XBL. For how much resources are spent trying to outfox the beast how about we take whats ours and refuse to give them any money and make one of the most powerful home computers ever made truly our own. And Cofree you should throw yourself a party and take the night off when you hit 10000 thanks for everything.

XLink Kai ? It doesn't connect to the XBL servers, but it does allow you to play online via system link.
