Thx Sadalius, ur great, thx for for ur help. I will be posting photos of my progress cuz i'm sure i'll need more info once i start or maybe not, what Sadalius said is pretty str8 forward, what i think might be confusing is the reverse of the TxD and RxD points.

But with u'll guys help i will certainly get it and hopefully can help someone else who need help.
I live in Jamaica and here project materials are hard to get. lol. I wanted to get the Rs232 to TTL adapter converter, unfortunately we dnt have it here. So, my only option right now is to build my own. I bought a breadboard(circuit board), a female db9 connector and 5 capacitors ( 4 x 1uf and 1 x 10uf ). Can any other capacitors be used? I have a question tho, The IC needed is a max 3232 or max232? I asked the electronics shop today and they couldn't help me because i didn't have a number for it. Any of u guys know the number? THe only thing i know about it is that its name is Maxim 3232 or 232.
I'm a
bit confused where u said the device's TxD should go to the drive's TxD and the device's RxD should go to the drive's Rxd. If i'm correct that means the drive's RxD point should have two(2) wires running to it right?
I really like how the probe part sounds. Sounds very interesting. Thinking about doing that.
I'll be posting pics soon, so everyone can see my progress and help if i should need any.
