Download iprep v9 and update the .ixdef file : viewtopic.php?f=112&t=48" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; then you should be good to go.

Thanks, i'll try that.

I'm just thinking though. Would it be my sata controller card, because when i try to flash with jungeflasher it doesn't seem to be recognising the 360 drive. But the sata card definitely is 'working' as the usb slots on it work fine. This is the card i'm using. Should be fine i guess.

that is not why the firmware v1.6 will not load

the def file has to be updated to get iprep to use the v1.6 firmware

Yeah, got it "working", lol. Was going grand, booted up form the usb, but like i said, the Sata card doesn't seem to be doing its job. the drive doesn't sem to be getting recognised. .

make sure you are on the port that is closes to the front of the pc
and that all other drives are unhooked when you boot on to the usb flash

How do you mean "front of the pc"? I'm using a sata pci card.

I've tried booting up without my HDDs connected but for whatever reason the PC won't boot at all, just goes blank.

I'm going to try jungle flasher again, it seems the "easiest" way to go. Is there anything i can try to get my PC to recognize the drive? Like when i should power on the drive? Leave the tray open? Do i need have the mode-b light be blue?? Because like i was saying, the USB ports on the same PCI card work, my PC just isn't recognising this drive for whatever reason.

This is the message i get when loading up jungleflasher.

And this is what it looks like once the program is running.

Ah right. See the card i have only has the one port. But funnily enough i was just looking at that very one before you posted it.
I'll get that one so and fingers crossed it does the trick for me. thanks!

Yours should work as it has the Via 6421 chipset so it might be a waste of money. Does the drive eject ok?

Anyway, here's a screen of what it looks like using iprep. Image

I should be getting something in the com list if everything is working as it should be right??

Just trying to narrow the problem down now. Hope to get this down at some stage over the next month. lol.

the com port is just for the lite-on
you have a benq firmware loaded in there

Yeah i know. Its a benQ i'm tryng to flash. So the com part doesn't matter? I know that now.

Have you any ideas why my drive isn't getting recognised?

have you got the via6421a or L pci sata card in yet
that is a big deal with iprep on a sam or benq dvd drive

what do you mean by 'in'? I have it put into my motherboard if thats what you mean? The usb ports work fine on it like. Jungleflasher isn't seeing the drive either, so its not just an iprep issue.
