this is really weird.
I made a drive on another computer
The comand line was:
DosFlash LITEON K 10C0 1 inquiry.bin identify.bin key.bin dummy.bin

on my computer the command was
DosFlash LITEON K 1 inquiry.bin identify.bin key.bin dummy.bin

Its missing the port.

DOSFLASH [LITEON] [E|K] [PORT] [COM PORT] [INQUIRY FILE] [IDENTIFY FILE]
[KEY FILE] [DUMMY FILE]

I got the port an edited the batch file with it.

"Geremia's DVDkey method failed"
"Cant get inquery.bin"

Going to try a few different ports.

Use the primary one with nothing else attached through sata. (to be safe its also worth disconnecting everything else attached to the mb including the ide's) For the easiest way its worth ordering a Via 6421 sata card but as you've flashed a sammy previously you should be ok with iprep. Oh and a 32 bit os.

I need to find the Port I/O number for the primary.
Jungle flasher has the Port I/O listed so im going though that list and trying them all.

Port 0x09F0 (Primary SATA):
Geremia's DVDkey Method Failed
Cant get inquery.bin.

Port 0x0970 (Secondary SATA):
DVD KEY INVALID

JungleFlasher says:

4/6 are IDE, so those are ruled out.
Is there another way to find the Port i/o number?
and can anyone post the format the port needs to be in?

Did you not use one of the xp machines to do the Sammy though? I'd recommend ordering the Via card (cheap enough on ebay and it'll work straight away with iprep) and using an xp machine and you'll be up and running in no time. Oh and try another sata cable too.

No i used my Vista 64bit to do the sammy.
Thats why i cant understand why the liteon isnt working.
and a new sata might not be a bad idea.

Strange, as cofree said, iprep isn't designed to work on 64 bit os'. If all else fails get the 6421 card (or a pc with a compatible sata port) and definitely use a 32 bit os and you'll be sorted in no time.

That sounds like what i will have to do
But the good thing is if its got the wrong port number it says it cant get inquery.bin as the error.
So now i have the correct port but "Geremia's DVDkey Method" is failing.

Its definitely down to your os and maybe your sata ports playing up. If you had a spare hd you could install xp on you'd probably be spot-on. Barring that lend an xp pc off someone and install the via card in it as it'll come in handy for future updates and solve all your probs.

Thought i would give you all an update.
I successfully got it.
Only one question.
Is it normal to have a file named "DUMMY.BAD" in the back ups folder?
The other 5 Files are there.

If it interests anyone:
Open dLit.bat from the root of the USB.
In the line "DosFlash LITEON K 1 inquiry.bin identify.bin key.bin dummy.bin"
Place 0970 in between the K and the 1.
so it reads "DosFlash LITEON K 0970 1 inquiry.bin identify.bin key.bin dummy.bin"
Save it and reboot into the iPrep usb.
Problem Solved.

IDK if it because of Vista, it being 64bit, iPrep, or me messing up but when iPrep creates the dLit.bat file it left out the Comport I/O port numbers.
Apparently Com1 should be 0970.

What the hells that? lol. Before you go any further (unless you've already flashed the blighter) i'd recommend loading the dummy.bin into jungleflasher and make sure it reports as valid as it'll be game over for the console if it's corrupt and you've flashed it in.

But anyways i noticed it when i was backing it up.
Wanted to ask on here to see if it would be safe to flash.
I cant open it in any of the new versions of JF because the drag and drop thing they put in used code that wont run properly on 64bit.
Will an older version of JF still be able to verify it?

Ill end up dumping this like 10 more times before i actually flash it.

The files in my backups folder after dumping:

use a different computer that doesn't have 64bit on it and use a via card. . . the red flag should of went up when what you were seeing on your screen was not what you saw on the screen during the tutorial

The red flag did go up, thats why i asked on here and didnt continue to flash it.

dalecheesy , You were right, i loaded it in JF and it said it was missing information.
Then asked me to rebuild from the barcode.
Im not even going to attempt it until i get some good dumps.
Is this why i got the DUMMY.BAD file?

dont dare use that pc to flash that drive.

If it was me and there was the space I would simply create a 20GB partition and install Windows XP on it.

Use this solely for flashing etc, that is if you have access to Partition software and an XP disc.

You would now have a dual boot system and the best of both worlds.
