When you tried flashing your brothers, did it show the signs of mode-b, two presses to eject and two presses to close and showing up in windows or did it behave like your drive?

Ya, works perfect. I've played games and everything since trying to flash it.CoFree wrote:man

The very same thing. Identical. I've never had the two presses for eject though. I've had the flashing power led, and the drive opening itself up after closing(which i read on the Textbook 2008 guide to be a sign of mode-b too).sadalius wrote:When you tried flashing your brothers, did it show the signs of mode-b, two presses to eject and two presses to close and showing up in windows or did it behave like your drive?
Re: Hit a wall so to speak. *flashing problem*
Yeah, that is a sign of mode-b, but it should take two presses of eject to open it. Then if you only pressed eject once, it would close but then re-open by itself. If you pressed it two time, it should close and stay closed.
Anywho. I'm convinced that there is something going on with the communication between your computer and your drive. I just don't know what.

I could never tell, because my close button doesn't work properly, i was just putting my hand to it to close it, and it would pop back out.sadalius wrote:If you pressed it two time, it should close and stay closed.
Re: Hit a wall so to speak. *flashing problem*
Only thing I can think of at the moment is maybe try a connectivity kit. That would take the 360 completely out of the picture and with having a pre-59 hitachi, the mode-b button would for sure get the drive into mode-b (not that I think getting mode-b is the problem). And you would be able to reliably test mode-b with the eject button on the connectivity kit. That and try a computer with the VIA sata chipset.

Yeah, its all been with a via-sata chipset, one of these http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.7598" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;sadalius wrote:That and try a computer with the VIA sata chipset.
Going to just wait for the connectivity kit to arrive so you've a few days peace at least and then i'll be wrecking your heads again if it stil doesn't work.

Not to worry, it won't leave my head until you say that it's either resolved, or that you've given up on it. I'm not that way. When someone has an ongoing problem, I try to look around and see what I can fins, ask for advice, etc so I can try and be of some help to them. So you might get a post from me with a suggestion while your waiting on your CK kit

Gave this a go/. Still no joy unfortuantely. When i clicked and ran "flashix.bat" and ran it as administrator and put in drive letter, drive speed and selected the four random numbers and pressed enter, i get an "access is denied" message.themusicsoulchild wrote:funky monk please try this.... it worked for me....

Right, i have my connectivity kit and "x360usb". Is there a guide round here some place that will show me how to set it up correctly? Thanks.
