dang i was hoping a breakthrough with the laptops... i got a buddy that may be able to hook me up with some xboxs to flash for some money but i have nothing to flash with...

yeah, I'm using an old pc that has a pentium 2 slot processor running at 450 mhz, not gigahertz, megahertz. It has a whopping 64 MB of memory, but just enough to run windows xp and a via 6421 card I have the 4 GB hdd setup with two partitions. One partition is 200 MB, is formatted and bootable to DOS and has all the stuff I need to flash sammies and benq's, the other partition has XP with firmware toolbox to handle the hitachi's. My next project is to find out if I can install slax 2.1 to the HDD and if I can, the smallest partition I can use, create that partition and install slax 2.1. That way if I have a hitachi, I can connect the drive, boot to my OS selector, select slax, get the drive in mode b, reset and then boot to windows from the OS selector. Thus eliminating the "Now where's that damn disk" syndrome. I'm also working on trying to accommodate a second AT style power supply so I can cycle the drives power easily, or allow me to reboot the PC and not loose power to the drive and incorporate an xecuter v1 connectivity kit. Once I do that, I'll work on building a control panel type section on the front to run all of it from and a way to easily connect the drive. My goal it to have it to where I can take a drive, put it into a removable type housing and slide the assembly into one of the PC's 5.25" bays, kinda like a removable hard drive caddy. Boot the PC with the appropriate switches set on the panel and dump and flash. That would take care of 45% of time spent for me. Another 45% is taking the 360 apart and about 10% is spent on actually flashing a drive.

Alas, this is what I have plans on doing, but seems I never get time to mess with it. Maybe someday, like maybe when the 360 is viewed upon like we view the atari 2600, I'll get it all finished.

well its not the fact that this computer is down, i just dont have anything else to use. sure if i had another system i'd use it. maybe i'll get a junker just for the 360 work.

By the way I'm not so sure i like the User bar.
