If you got no errors while flashing, I highly doubt that its the flash. Probably a hardware problem. You could always restore the drive and try it out and see if it still does it, then re-flash the custom firmware and try it again. Then if that doesn't get you anywhere, take the cover off the drive and try it so you can actually see whats going on with it.

its a sammy drive the drive makes a skidding noise
the drive stops and the disk keeps spinning. what could it be cuz of flashing or hardware problem
thanks
Mine does that now. Its not the fw on mine its the wear and tear from hundreds of hours of use by my boys. I'm just hoping it will keep holding on for awhile.

i would ask this.
did it do it before the flash.
does it do it with both orig games and backups.
if you flash back to orig firmware will/did it do it.
thats what i would do just to see,is flash back to orig firmware and play a game.

You don't need to do a restore with the sammy 28. You can flash the new ixtreme fw right over the old. You will need to insert your key into the new fw with fwtoolbox though and rename the fw and put it in the right place. Check out this tutorial. It is the same process as you are asking about, you just don't have the bad flash part.

if you use iprep.
you can just do it like the first time you flashed the drive.
build your flash drive with the firmware you want.
then dump your firmware.firmtool will run and build your new hacked firmware (with your key in it)
then flash the drive with your new hacked firmware.
