Hello,

I have just tried to flash my Lite On 83 with Jungle flasher 1.67 and I have gotten the key and have the LitCFW.bin from the dummy.bin fine.

But when I went to the MTK tab and did Lite On Erase it froze when I got to the Status 0x0... Now my Lite On won't respond and freezes whenever I enter Windows..

What I want to know is can I use iPrep 10.7 to recover my Lite On 83?? I have done it before with the Lite on 74 but never with 83.

Please help!!!!

i hear that the 83 s like a normal lite-on ? im unsure but some1 here will put me right

Yea, thats for the older iprep though.

Is this really how you do it? Can someone clarify? I'm using iprep 10.7...

Update: I tried erasing it and flashing it in iprep 10.7 but now when I turn on the 360 and put in any game it says "Play DVD" only....

Did I just screw myself?? I have all the necessary key information from the dump I did in Jungleflasher. Does that help?

No, I haven't. I all I need to do now is really find a way to restore my original firmware on my Lite On 8385 drive because I'm getting a "Play DVD" whenever I insert a game now... I want to just start over but I'm not sure how..

And all my key info is safe and I have a proper Dummy.bin file.

Any help??

Ok i too have this "bad flash" problem on 3 differnt liteon drives, and i have followd cofree's video tutorial to the word same version of iprep and same firmware, and when i get to the point after powering the drive in dos, and i run the l-o-eras.exe "ae00" in my case it returns the code ff7f every single time, i have read about 20 differt posts suggesting multiple option non of which have worked. i have tried a differnt port, a differnt pci slot, differnt times in which you the drive on, also have tried power cylcling the drive in dos still all i get on 3 differnt drives is the ff7f, it never changes.
i have 3 of these drives and im sure all of them are fixable i just cant seem to get the correct code for the erase.

If someone could help that would greatly appreciated

with iprep
you have to make sure you are on the 1st or main sata port
are you on a via6421a or l card.
iprep does not play well with other chipsets

im using a 6421a card, and i have tried both the ports, and i have disabled the onboard sata ports, im going to try another mobo at work tomorrow ill post and let you know how that goes, would using a newer version iprep make a difference?

im not sure what else you can try other than a different pc.
i had a old hp that i never could get to flash with iprep

I got it working today at work, same controller same connectivity kit, idk but its working thanks for everything.
