Alright, my xbox is finally dead. RROD for the fourth time and it aint coming back. I have done the RROD fix 3 times and it just aint happening any longer. Looks like i am going to have to finally buy a new one. This unit was one of the first loads released and has served me well. Just think it has given all it can. It has a flashed drive already in it and it has worked great. My Dilema, if i buy a new arcade version and it has a 9 series liteon and can't be flashed, can i use my current drive in the new box that is already flashed. If so, how do i get the key imported from the 9 series liteon to the already flashed drive. I would like to do the same thing even if it is a 8-series liteon as well.. As always, any help would be appreciated. the already flashed drive is a Toshiba.

If the drive cant be flashed then you cant put any other drive in that console as the drive key cant be dumped.

that's what i thought, just wanted to make sure, but if the drive in the new unit can be dumped, i should be able just to import that key to the old flashed drive correct. Through jungleflasher.

BTW, has anyone seen a unit that the RROD simply can't be fixed on?

Yes you can just get the key then spoof another drive in there.

The 9 series is flashable but it requires soldering (as far as I know, there may be a software method now, or soon).

As far as RROD, it depends on your tool's ive done a bunch of xclamps and they usually work for a good amount of time, but end up failing, so I usually have to heat gun then redo the xclamp and it usually works for a while.

With me, I treat my xbox with care, i make sure it has good airflow, and dont leave it on all the time etc... Especially with my RROD fixes, I dont usually even game hard on a RROD box.

are the newer xboxes less prone to the RROD???? i haven't really heard.

electronics are prone to anything.
