Capcom Announces Numerous Game Title Delays

Capcom has been forced to delay several of its anticipated games
Game publisher Capcom announced it will delay several high-profile game titles, disappointing gamers and analysts as 2009 ends.
Capcom will delay Lost Planet 2, Super Street Fight IV, Monster Hunter Tri, and Dead Rising 2 -- though several other anticipated games will be released as scheduled. The Capcom fiscal 2011, which runs from April 2010 to March 31 2011, will see the release of Lost Planet 2, Dead Rising 2, and Super Street Fighter IV.
The company still plans to release Bioshock 2 and God of War III as scheduled in 2010, though the company still said future adjustments could take place after the new year. Capcom will kick of 2010 by releasing Dark Void as scheduled on Jan. 19, even though it was originally expected to be available in October.
Capcom blames "rapid changes in the market conditions caused primarily by the 4th quarter introduction by competitors of a large number of new games" for the game delays.
Capcom normally is available to discuss game titles and future products during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which takes place the first week of January. It's unknown if the company will discuss the delayed games, but it's highly likely the media will be asking questions.
The company already issued a statement during a conference call : "However, due to the delay in the launch of titles originally scheduled for this fiscal year, we may not introduce all of the titles that are planned for the next fiscal year. Consequently, we will have to reexamine the title lineup in the next fiscal year and afterward from the standpoint of achieving sustained growth.”
