Question about iXtreme 1.3 speeds

Post by bo0nd0ck »

If I want to change my currently flashed samsung drive from the 5x its at right now to 12x, do i just follow the steps in textbooks guide again, just as if I were flashing the original firmware?

Also is 12x the better speed to use for iXtreme 1.3 on a samsung 25.

Thank you

the sam v25 or v28 drive can be flash over the old firmware.
just do the steps over.build your flash then idump.let it build your hacked firmware.then do the iflash.
make sure that you have your orig firmware in more than one place or at the very least your key.

the 12x speed firmware is what the 360 drive has when its orig.that is what i use.its loud but i dont give a crap.i have the sound on the tv so load it dont matter how loud the dvd drive is.
if you use a slower speed it takes longer to load the game.

let me know if you need anything else.

The old firmware as in my already flashed firmware?

Or old as in the original firmware, because right now it does not have the original firmware, its flashed with 1.3 at 5x.

Also thanks for the quick reply cofree and I dig the site.

you can flash over a hacked firmware.do it the same way.it will do just like the first time you flash the drive.
all it keep when it is building your new hacked firmware is the key.then samtool put that key in the new hacked firmware.
let me know how it goes

Ah your confusing me talking about keys and samtool?

I did nothing with keys the first time I flashed. I just used iPrep and a usb stick and thats all it took.

If I remember right, the original keys are saved on the usb drive when you use Iprep. Hopefully you saved that somewhere, before you reloaded the new firmware onto the usb drive. I'm just going off memory here so correct me if I'm wrong.

Here is everything I have went through up to where I am now.

I had iXtreme on my 360 version 1.3 at 5x.

I wanted to change it to 12x so I used iPrep to load it on to my usb stick.

When i went to use iDump it just hung, then i went back over the tutorial and read i needed to disable firmguard. I downloaded the activate.iso and used it to disable it.

Now when I try to use iDump it just hangs right after i press 1 to select XTREME.

Not sure why this is happening, it didnt hang the first time I flashed my drive and I had no problems. I still have my orig.bin and my hacked.bin from the first successful flash.
