Here my situation.

I only ever used XBox Live to download music for Rock Band but my Xbox has been banned so does anyone know of a way for me to download Rock Band songs to play on my Xbox? I have friends with Xbox's that are not banned so is there a way for me to connect my hard drive to someone else's Xbox and go to the Rock Band store and download some tracks using my gamertag and Xbox Live Points and then put my hard drive back on my Xbox and play them?

One thing you will need to know is I had an Xbox Pro that got the RROD so I went and bought a new Xbox and did the license transfer back in Sept, and this is the banned unit (thought that would be important to know as I think you can only do this one a year).

No, DLC cannot be moved to another Xbox by any means other than the license transfer.

If you were to plug in your HDD to an unbanned console, buy the songs, download them and then use them on your banned console that MAY work, but from what I hear you are not able to use DLC on a banned console. So arcade games dont work etc, but I dont know if you are unable to use song's for rockband, and map packs for FPS's. I would assume you would be unable to but I'm kind of unsure.

Thanks for the feedback. I might give Microsoft support a call and tell them I have taken my hard drive over to a friends house to use on his Xbox and tell them because I don't have internet I downloaded Rock Band DLC to my drive and ask them how to make it work.

I have my arcade games still working on my banned console. I'm pretty sure the DLC on there still works too. You just can't add new content using an unbanned xbox. The hard drive from the banned box will be messed up, an unbanned xbox won't write to it. Even if it could, it would be useless, the DLC is locked to the box that downloads it.
