My friend has a xbox with samsung dvd drive and ix1.61.

Suddenly it couldn't play fifa10 anymore(it said something about clean disc error) when the match where about to start.
So then i spoofed a benq as samsung and plugged it into his xbox, and still same error.
Then we tried with forza motorsport 3, and when the race where about to start, it did the same error again. And the same with gta and assassin's creed 2.

But Left 4 Dead 2 and Smackdown vs Raw 2010 works fine.

And all the games that doesn't work in his xbox, works fine in my xbox.

What could the problem be?

Its a media error.

You may need to use a new burner, and verbatim's if you are not using them. Get MIS's, made in india and phillipines etc are all low quality disks.. Singapore is the only way to go.

You may need to burn at a lower speed if your burning at a speed higher than 4x.

i have been using the same media for over a year with no problems in my own xboxes, i have had 3.

The benq drive i installed in my friend's xbox, have also been in one if mine, i had no problems with my backup games, but when i tested his xbox, with the same games, only some of them would work, the rest made clean disc error, whenever a fight, race or match where about to start in the game.

I'm not quite sure on this one then man.

All the possible things it could be is:

The drive
Your dvd burner
Your media
Your backup itself
The Xbox
