did you turn off your anti-virus when installing,i had the same trouble disabled anti virus and it installed,if you check your anti-virus log you will probably see its picking it up as a tojan and will delete it everytime or block install, hope this helps

sorry to bring back an old post but it stops clutter :D
anyway i have reinstalled my os and i still cannot install porti when i try the manual install
control panel/add hardware/ then click "yes" i have already connected, then scroll to bottom and click "add new device"
then "install the hardware i manually chose", then click show all devices and click next ...
but the next screen which says "have disk" on it with 2 side boxs 1-manufacturer 2-model
well manufacturer says "(standard infared port)" and model says "serial cable using IrDa protocol ??? neither ever did before both were empty, there is no infrared anything in my system ?
who is the manufacturer of portio ?
is it in the list of manufacturer,s ?
do i need portio to flash my liteon ?
this is an absolute boggle to me my system has not had any thing new added for a while but it never did this to me before when installing portio ??
can any 1 help me ?

i have noticed jf 1.70 does not say that portio is not installed !
is it in jf ? i mean already (not the manual install)
proper idiotic question, i know-but .... hell im guted especialy if its needed to dump a liteon

JF 1.70 takes care of that, just install JF and you should be good to go.

I could never get iprep to work correctly and its to much of a process. I like JF alot, Dosflash is pretty good too.
