Robin Hoods Playground

Sorry for such a basic question, but can arcade 360 games be backed up? Are some arcade games only available by download and not on CD? Also, I may not understand 100% what sets an arcade game aside from a regular game? Are Xbox Original games arcade while 360 games are the next generation?
