LiteOn 93450c LT 1.0 - Return to Stock.

Hi,

Need some help - here is the situation:

Got my LiteOn 93450c flashed by a professional as I am not very experienced with soldering.
He has sent me a file called Lite-OFW which must be the drives original firmware.
But he has not given me the dummy.bin file...

I want to flash my drive back to stock before the dashboard update on 06/04/10, but according to Jungle Flasher, if I want to return my drive back to stock, I need the dummy.bin file :|

Anyone know how I can get around this problem?

I have flashed drives before, Samsung, Toshiba, LiteOn 7xxxx, so I'm not a total noob :)

Hi, I stand to be corrected on this but i think with jungleflasher you can just load your original firmware into target and write it straight to your lite-on. I am not sure about iprep as i always use jungleflasher. I would assume you could load your original firmware into iprep and use that to write. Hope this helps. ;)

Just load the ofw as target and source, then flash that.

I think that is all you need dude - the bin file only.

I am in a similar situation. I think we need to load the Lite-OFW.bin into source to go back to original firmware. Not sure on what buttons needed to be clicked with JungleFlasher to perform that...

The only file that was extracted from the drive was Lite-OFW.bin - this is all I need to reflash back to original firmware, no? Been reading that some have other files (such as key.bin, or dummy.bin - what are these?) Are these not files generated/extracted from the Lite-OFW.bin?

Now, are there any reflashing back to original firmware tutorials out there using JungleFlasher? Under the "Firmware Tool 2" I would have to load "Lite-OFW.bin" in the SOURCE field (by clicking on the "Open Source Firmwar"), but what about the TARGET field? What is that?

Again, not sure how the reflashing back to original is to be done.

(The initial flashing to CFW was done by loading the "ix-ltv1.1-934.bin" from JungleFlasher v0.1.73 Beta firmware folder inside the SOURCE field, and the TARGET was the extracted "Lite-OFW.bin" file. Then under "MTK Flash 32" the "Lite-On Erase" button was pressed, followed by "Intro/Device ID", "Write" and then "Outro/ATA Reset" if I recall correctly.)

The same has to be done this time by now "Lite-OFW.bin" is loaded inside TARGET and "ix-ltv1.1-934.bin" is loaded inside the SOURCE field?

This with JungleFlasher? Once loaded in these areas, what then?
Why does this file have to be BOTH in target and source? Does not make sense, what are you loading from TARGET into SOURCE when the file is the same...?

Then under "MTK Flash 32" the "Lite-On Erase" button was pressed, followed by "Intro/Device ID", "Write" and then "Outro/ATA Reset" if I recall correctly.

I am using Xtractor for this, and assume I would have to have it connected to the drive as initially done.

of course hes talking about jungle flasher, you cant choose source and target firmwares in iprep because it does that for you :P open the dummy.bin which you dumped from a previous flash as source firmware, lite on 93450 original firmware as target, spoof source to target then flash like normal :)
