drive came in today

i plugged power on the drive and plugged the sata cable ...

not recognized in BIOS

not seen in windows

Updated my asus P5K motherboard to latest bios ==> still no succes ...

I searched crazy about it but there is not much to find on the subject ...

I posted on the asus forum but no one is responding ...

I even hooked it too my VIA VT 6421 L sata card but still no result ...
Would the drive be DOA ???
Can i double check this ?

It is possible to get something thats DOA. It's happened to me about 5 times over the past 12 years of ordering stuff online. Does the drive show signs of live when you turn on the PC? Can you eject the drive and such?

Man you never believe this ...

I feel so stupid :p

I flashed my bios and stuff like that any possible thing
Because Yes it showed some signs of life ! like blinking the led when i booted up.

But the problem was the SATA cable !!!

WTF it was a new cable ... I putted in some old one and the drive popped up in my bios ... so everything works fine !!!

Yeah, glad you got it. That would have been my next suggestion had it shown signs of life but you hadn't figured it out, but you did figure it out :D
