Hei guys, I am going to use Plexiglas for my xbox windows, How thick should it be?
One more thing. How do you paint the HDD case? Because the last time I did it the paint did not stick to the HDD case.

Thanks :geek:

@edited What tools should I use to cut the windows? Is the talismoon tool good?

I want the windows to looks something like these one

That guy seems to have the same case as you, and he lists the dimensions of the plexy.

OK...you should not have any problems with your project if you take your time and do not get into a rush. I would think that a nibbler like the talismoon tool will leave a pretty jagged cut but it that's what you have to work with then so be it. I will give a short explanation of my methods to add windows to your xbox. (there are prob 50 other ways to do this, this is just how I go about it

1. Choose your design
2. Print/draw/design on paper or acetate or even on the case itself.
3. Use a razor to cut out the design(if you are using acetate or paper).
4. I use spray glue from a aerosol can to affix the design to the case.(remove the inner metal shield first)
5. Once the design is affixed to the case I use a spray can of paint (whatever color laying around) to spray the design to the case, make sure that you protect all other parts of the case prior you don't want painted prior to doing this step. Remove the mask/paper.
6. Use your dremel to rough cut the case to within about a 1/16" of the finish lines.
7. Use various rough and fine files to achieve a a nearly complete design.
8. Next I use two different fingernail files to achieve the final product. I do not use the dremel sanding drums as they are too coarse for this step in my opinion.
9. Then you will want to use your dremel cutoff wheel to level all of the ridges on the inside of the case so that when you glue down the plexi everything will go smoothly.
10. Custom paint your box.
11. Cut the plexi to the size/shape that you require and I use the glue that actually melts the two together for a permanent/no light bleeding bond.
12. Your done.
