Cant play backups on soft modded wii

ok i soft modded my wii i can play my games off the usb loader jus fine but for some reason i cant play my backups using neogamma any ideas???
Some of the newer wii's cannot play backup disks only the older ones.. I dont know for sure which do and dont though. I believe wiis after 2009 dont(not sure) Look into it though and see. google is your friend
Edit: I didnt catch this was a old post. Maybe help a newbie though. sorry.
