You can get a chip for it. Wasabi V2 will do nicely. As for the softmod, Bushing is now working with Nintendo to patch the holes for the softmod. They are playing by the book on this one. Only way you'll see the softmod now is if waninkoko releases it. Then you have to hope that the holes aren't patched by then.
