hi - trying to get the neceesaary files from this liteon drive its a liteon 74850c from a 2008 xbox 360..never been flashed before..anyway i understand that the only way to extract the key, identify and enquiry files is ny using a rs232 cable, unfortunately i do not have a pc with a rs232 cable port...i have a rs232 to usb adaptor which shows up in jf but doesnt seem to be working..see log below...i am using a ck3 pro connectivity kit, have the necessary ck3 usb drivers installed, also the port IO drivers...along with the drivers for this rs232 to usb adaptor....any help and advice...ta

Re: problems with 74850c
Its likely an issue with the rs232 to usb adaptor.
If you have the ck3 pro, use the usb that is on the ck3.
If you have the lite, then you should see if you can track down a friend or another PC with rs232 you can use, and try dumping your drive that way.
You can flash on your home computer if you like since the rs232/usb is only used for dumping.

Re: problems with 74850c
i do have the ck3 pro connectivity kit with the probe..and i did use the ck3 usb ,but it does not find any com port....still gives the same error message...just another thought, when i insert the probe tip into the r707 point is the green light on the probe suppose to go blue as well as the other one ?...cos mine stays green and the top one blue..?HaGGardSmurf wrote:

Re: problems with 74850c
when the probe is not touching only the blue should be lit, when it is touching the blue and green should be lit, double check your set up and drivers, even the things which you may think you have right could be wrong
ive done stupid things many times and slapped myself for it because it was something so basic lol

ok i c ....when my probe is not touching i have the blue and green light on....when its touching the r707 hole..the blue and green light are still on, however the green light dims slightly...checked everything...seems to be connected ok...what about the blue/red light on the ck3 board, its for the hitachi drive i think..is that suppose to left blue or red ?...i leave it on blue...louis09 wrote:when the probe is not touching only the blue should be lit, when it is touching the blue and green should be lit, double check your set up and drivers, even the things which you may think you have right could be wrongive done stupid things many times and slapped myself for it because it was something so basic lol

Re: problems with 74850c
It should be blue, red is mode b, and generally isnt used since it can confuse jungle flasher.
Your probe may have a problem, it should only be green when touching the r707.

CK3.co.uk is one of the better site's, and cheaper... They ship worldwide, but theyre also in the UK, you might want to check them out.

Re: problems with 74850c
I paid probably double that when I bought mine.
Then again I bought the ck3 + probe and had them shipped overnight.

Re: problems with 74850c
its out of stock...left details with them so they will email when its available....can the drive be dumped without the probe?...been reading about bridging the r707 point with a flat head screwdriver....see image attached which i found...but not too sure about the other point that is also bridged...if both points need bridging can i use a tweezer held over both points...?

Re: problems with 74850c
you could possibly use a tweezer, give it a go, if it dont work then use a screwdriver
