When i try and dump the drive, the D1 always flashes when i power on the drive?? Here are the steps i am taking
(When promted to hit y to resend command)
1.(With drive powered off) hit Y then enter (Shows "Status: 0x7f")
2. Power on the drive (D1 will start flashing)
3. Power off the drive (D1 will stay solid) , wait 3 to 4 seconds
4. Power drive back on and D1 starts flashing again instead of dumping the banks???
Has anyone ever seen this before? any suggestions?

try a different flash.
you could try a floppy just to see if that will get it to dump.if you do that and it works do not turn the computer off when it says.you have to wait for firmtool to run.it takes longer with a floppy

Are you trying to flash off a motherboard?? I had the same problem trtying to flash a benq with an Nforce (can't remember which one). D1 flashing means the sata port has detected the drive, but can't read the banks. Try the PCI card everyone uses if you don't already have it (link in my sig). If you are using your mobo, try the different ports available before you dismiss it.

hi, there are only few people who can get their motherboards to work with benq, you should concentrate on the tutorials provided on the site and see what you need for flashing benq, the best way to flash it is by gettting via vt6421a card which works great with the benq drives. so get that card follow cofree;s video and you should be fine.
by the way what mobo is it and are you using iprep if so when you are making ur flash in iprep what option does it come under sata controller select.
