well man before you try to dump a game.
just make sure the dvd drive is working.
play a movie or a cd something that will let you know it is working
you may try a different sataport.
if you have one on the mobo it would be better to use that one.

Also, what version of windows are you running and with what file system are you using? If your using FAT32, you won't be able to rip the game to your hard drive as FAT32 can't store files over 4GB in size. If this is the case, you'll have to convert to NTFS file system which can accomodate files of a much larger size. If you don't know how to check, go to my computer and right click on your hard drive icon, choose properties. On the first page that comes up on the dialog box should tell you the file system.

xbc will give you the right size.
uninstall xbc.
then get a new download of v2.5 install that and try to use it.
dont go to the update yet

or try schtroms like CoFree also suggested. I've seen times where schtroms will work when XBCr wouldn't and the other way around too. Also, have you tried clicking the unlock drive button to see if that helps?

Ok using the Schtrom360Xtract_3.4 i get an error it says
Can't get feature list from drive!
It is a keron compatible drive,
But don't seem to be flashed with the right firmware!
Drive is to be used as a normal dvd-rom!
Now this really makes me mad b/c bought this from ebay
the user said he did this.
My next question is how to get the right firmware on it
I have xbins and can dl the right one.
Is there a post as to how to do this?
And will i hurt anything doing it.

when you open xbc down in the bottom window
if it list your drive with the krean v100 firmware then i would say it has the right firmware.

I think that means its got the right firmware.
I uninstalled then re downloaded it from here
Reinstalled and the same does anyone think the guy could of used the wrong firmware
For example he might of used the SH_D162C
instead of the SH-D163B
