Connecting Xbox Drive To PC
Re: Connecting Xbox Drive To PC
Yea, went through all of those and it didn' t turn up anything.
On another note though... After digging around and what not, I read about this Slax cd that puts your drive into mode b, and now that I've used it and it actually found and put my drive into mode b, my hitachi shows up in jungle flashers drive menu.
Nothing under port properties though, and i get "Drive rev undetermined, Aborting!" when i try to dump the drive. Is this a step in the right direction? Can't really get it to do anything, but least something shows up now.... Right?
Also, I've been noticing that all the tutorials on here, and most, if not all the others ive seen, are on computers that have Windows XP. My computer is running Vista. Could that be a problem? Its 32bit (read that 64 doesn't work) but could vista be a problem? I have a computer with XP but its a fair bit older and doesn't have sata ports.

Re: Connecting Xbox Drive To PC
well slax is a completely different way to get in modeB
you need to burn the audio cd
man i just cant remember there are so few of theses drives
yes you should use xp but i would not use a pci sata card with jungle
so you are in a hard place with that
make sure you are running jungle after right click on it and running as admin

Re: Connecting Xbox Drive To PC
So lets say this is all moot and its just not going to work, what would I need to make this happen?
All my ports say they are Primary Masters. My first port says AFXO21M0 IDE Controller. The other five are Intel (R) ICH8R/ICH9R SATA RAID Controllers. If I got one of these Conectivity Kits, would that work? Or is my hardware gonna make everything difficult? What would be the best route to go here?

Re: Connecting Xbox Drive To PC
a via pci sata card should help with your xp pc

it can be tricky to get jungle flasher to work with it

Re: Connecting Xbox Drive To PC
Perhaps if i just start smashing things with my fist, and maybe a hammer of some sort.
Sigh... Maybe it just wasn't meant to be.
UPDATE:I FREAKIN DID IT!!!!!
Dunno how exactly. I had given up on jungle flasher and was trying out 360 firmware tool. followed some guide and got it into mode b, it couldn't read from the drive. This guide had me do a few extra steps that i hadn't tried before (insert a legit dvd for example) so i thought i would check jungle flasher to see if it found my drive. It hadn't really, it showed up in the drive drop down menu but nothing else. I went a head with the 79 unlock regardless (before i just tried to dump the drive right away, think that was my problem when i tried it before) and i was then able to dump the drive afterwards and follow the guide on this site the rest of the way.
Says everything worked out fine, haven't got anything to test it with yet, but in due time.
If it doesn't work, then its back to the ol fist n hammer.
Just wanna thank Cofree for sticking it out, helping all along the way.
