looking for least technical (no soldering) and cheapest bare minimum product(s)
i have a lite-on DG-16D2S R/W Rev 7485
located in america so i'd rather not pay $20 for shipping like some *reputable* sites i've browsed...

what i have already;
VIA chipset pci card + cable

thank you.

well you will have to have a probe to get the info from the drive
you WILL have to spend some money.
this is what you will need.
http://www.modchip.ca/store/product.php ... 284&page=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
or
http://www.modchip.ca/store/product.php ... 284&page=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and
http://www.modchip.ca/store/product.php ... 284&page=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

if you are running a via chipset i would not use jungle flasher but that is just me.

our guides are here

why don't you recommend jungle flasher? also is that the cheapest site i can order those parts from? i could've sworn shipping on that site was $20 but its actually $10 so its not too bad. sorry if i sound like a cheapskate lol just kinda sore that i thought all i needed was the via card (thats why i have it) but i didn't learn until taking it apart that i need other stuff.

thanks a lot i appreciate it

If your looking for the cheapest solution, pay someone to flash the drive for you.

the ck3 + probe is about $60.00 so its easier to just pay someone $30-40 to flash the drive for you. Make sure they give you your key if they flash LT to your drive though.

ok but the usb isn't really used for anything except for accessing the hard drive, right?
i tripped with my dismantled xbox today after months of storing it and forgetting about it so i figured i'd finally get to it instead of procrastinating any longer.

you know what i'll just order the more expensive one just in case lol. again thanks a lot!

the files have to have a way into your pc
the lite uses the rs232 and the pro will do ether usb/rs232

iprep, dosflash

I think the update your referring to is the ap 2.5 update? That's been bypassed there is new FW out (LT plus) and there are methods to patch the AP 2.5 data to a game after its been ripped. (ABGX)

There are lot's of people who are playing backups online just fine. I personally play my backups offline, and my original's online.

Take a look here: http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... .php?f=195" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Choose a video and follow along. Only real difference is that your flashing LT+ and in the video they will be flashing LT or a different FW. However the steps are still the same.
