Motorola DROID R2-D2

If you’ve been paying attention over the past couple of weeks you’ll know that Motorola and Verizon have been cooking up a special edition DROID 2 that is sure to please Star wars fans everywhere. This special edition phone, is actually a Motorola DROID R2-D2 Edition. There’s virtually no features that this device has over the normal Motorola DROID 2 but it does feature a neat paint job on the back of the device very reminiscent of the Star wars era (considering it depicts R2-D2, after all).
Anyways, while we’ve known about the device for some time we haven’t had an official release date. Luckily, a poster for the device went live earlier to let us know that the device should hit store shelves on September 30th, 2010.
The price point for the Motorola Droid R2-D2 has not been confirmed but we can’t see it costing very much more.
