external hard drive jtag question

Hi probably a stupid question,but I was reading how to put games onto an external for my jtag and it said format to fat 32.
I have been told by someone who knows about computers but not xboxs that fat32 only accepts 4 gig in I folder, so how does it take games that are around 6.5 gig didn't want to try to do tut it if I'm start off wrong! thanks -J
