Black-ops stolen discs could lead to leak.
by Anthony Taormina
"Retail discs for Call of Duty: Black Ops have been stolen from a printing press and the purveyor is threatening to leak them onto the internet. Treyarch is currently pursuing shutting down anyone involved so be warned if you go looking."
The crime in question occurred by way of a thief gaining access to a pressing plant in Alabama and snagging a handful of discs. From there the person sold his discs to various individuals, one of which happens to be a member of some prominent hacking forums. Treyarch’s community manager Josh Olin, got wind of this forum posting, hopped online, and attempted to get in contact with any of those in possession of the game. To no avail, he went on Twitter in order to pursue contacting the person in question directly but, at this time, he has been unsuccessful. Currently there is no word as to how Treyarch or Activision are going to be moving forward with addressing this crime, but I would expect the authorities are already involved.
The anticipation for Black Ops is extremely high, especially after all of the great trailers we have been shown, but my anticipation is only second to my need to experience the game in a pure guilt-free setting. Knowing that my copy of the game was obtained using illegal means would only cheapen the playthrough. There are plenty of gamers out there who were just waiting for this game to leak and have no qualms about dishing a little jab at Activision, but I implore those who have the inkling to simply wait a couple weeks. It will be worth more than the headache.
What are your thoughts on the Call of Duty: Black Ops leak? Just how much trouble has this guy gotten himself into?
Call of Duty: Black Ops is set for actual release November 9th on the PS3, PC, Xbox 360, and Wii.

What are your thoughts on the Call of Duty: Black Ops leak?
i could careless.i hope he gets away with it.
i dont play this kind of game on live because they allow so much CHEATING.
i say what a load of Hippocrates they let the cheating go on (keep in mind this is a service we pay for every year or month

)
but say how bad piracy is.
they give the idea they are running a fare service and they are not
as far as im concerned they are stealing from me
ever day that goes by that they have not stopped the cheating
Just how much trouble has this guy gotten himself into?
im sure they will make a mountain out of a mole hill
and try to find him and make him pay a billion dollars or some dumb ass crap like that

here is a little more i dug up.
this is form a different news story not posted here.
Blizzard Sues StarCraft II Hackers
yes that is

the ones doing the hell raising over a few games that got stole.
In this artical they are bitching because some hackers made a cheat for starcfaft2
Then they had this to say
Defendants irreparably harm the ability of Blizzard's legitimate customers (i.e. those who purchase and use unmodified games) to enjoy and participate in the competitive online experience. That, in turn, causes users to grow dissatisfied with the game, lose interest in the game, and communicate that dissatisfaction, thereby resulting in lost sales of the game or 'add-on' packs and expansions thereto."
if that is what they think then why have they not went after the cheaters on live
because once they get your money they could careless about you or your game experience

Note that there all still developers out there that DO care about your game experience. Its mainly producers which honestly arent needed, theyre there for the money.

I couldnt care less about call of Duty, every year it comes out its pretty much the same year after year. Plus personally I think BC2 lashes all over it all day long and every day of the week. Basically its gone stale.
Anyway back on point and response to some others, Yeah I agree companies like EA, Activision and so on dont give a hoot about our gaming experience. If the game is selling they will pump it out like hot cakes year after year. Just look at Rock Band, Call of Duty, Fifa. I just wish all these people who but would just stop and refuse to buy anymore EA products so I can wake up one morning and see EA have gone bankrupt, I swear I hate that company. Turn 10 the devs of Forza have gone the same way. They dont communicate with the community anymore either just like EA.
If I wanna play a Great FPS I will play BC2, they can still black ops up their shiny little purple starfish for all I care.

Yea but these seem to be more PC sided. The good developers seem to be 10x better for pc games than 360.
IE: valve, they always release good content and its always free, until lately its been like 800 MS points while its free on the pc. I blame M$. Also with patches and whatnot, the pc version of their games are always updated but the xbox versions are rarely.
Yea I got a good laugh about that.

Yep, I cant wait to see the number they pick to fine this guy with when they find him.

I know what you mean, I cant play COD anymore its boring, same thing over and over. There are too many hardcore kids that will do ANYTHING to get a small edge, from straight up cheating to learning some complex glitch that will give them a slight advantage in a fight. The only thing that'd be fun in black ops are the few new weapon's but I said the same thing about the riot shield in MW2, so I'll probably rent it and when I get tired of it I'll smile that I didnt buy it

I'll probably still end up buying it but I'm not looking forward to Black ops at all. I'm actually looking forward to BC2: Vietnam...
