problem flashing liteon aoa1 74850c drive

Ok first off here is what I am using.
ck3 lite
probe v1 and 2
gigaware usb to serial adapter
liteon aoa1 74850c
via 6421 with viaraid renamed in sys32
So my problem is this. I have successfully flashed several liteon drives to this point. My buddy gave me his box to flash and I said no problem. Plugged everything in opened JF drive showed up. comport showed up. clicked get key and got bad serial data msg. Went to ck3 tool got invalid key when using probe. tried the old faithful r707 bridge with screwdriver and got a key. however apon multiple dumps the keys didn't match it was different everytime. I went back to JF and tried the bridge and got bad serial data. Does anyone have a idea as to what it may be? I have replaced my ck3 lite and probe still having the same issue. Since I am using the lite i only have the serial cable option. My XPS doesn't have a serial port so I am using a gigaware usb serial adapter. This has worked on previous flashings and I have since replaced this as well. I'm starting to lose hair and sleep over this drive. Been through 100's of posts and tried just about everything. Including probing the r52 hole next step is to try to get the key from motherboard. I would prefer not to have to go that route though.
