X-S Note: With the confirmation from C4E that the latest beta fall2010 dashboard has new AP2.5 checks and SSv3 with new games, we 'suggest' anyone with a modified FW stay away from the update and these new games (Fable3, ...) for now if you don't want to be part of the 'MS November 2010 BanHammer'
JTAG 360s (do I need to remind this?) should of course also not update, it will break the JTAG/SMC hack forever. You will have to wait for a new rebooter (freeBOOT/XBReboot).

So I need to stay offline as of now then right ? From my understanding is from reading this is there is an update waiting for me when I turn on the 360 as its Monday now.

dont get on live till this is worked out
or you can bet you will be banned
and from the look of it
you will not be able to play a backup disc till new firmware comes out
so best thing is to just stay off line
for a few days till we have more info

Right Ive declined update on flashed console, updated my umodded elite and recovered my profile. So this is what Im gonna do, Every once in a while I will just recover the profile so it updates my acheievements etc etc. I really dont care for the ban its just the corrupt game saves and innability to install to HD. I spent over 200 hours on Oblivion and the same on Fallout 3 and lost it all. I was gutted and still am.

P.S Im in a chatroom on a certain website now and people are saying Fable 3 is working fine after the update. But I trust in you guys and like always will just go with the flow on here. Any idea if it matters what FW we are using, as Im still on the Liteon 1.61, or dont it matter ?

i recommend running 2 consoles
a flashed not banned console
and a stock console
then all you have to do is move you HD back and forth for your saves and game achievements
my flashed console will never see live again

well i just took the update on 1 of my 360s.

yes
if you have a benq or a liteon dvd drive
the samsung dvd drive does not support the ap25 check
so
one of my console is running a v28 and should have no trouble

you can not spoof a v28 dvd drive and it work
it has to be a stock samsung dvd drive for it to work
im not sure about the older hit dvd drive
i would think they are the same as the samsun
but im not sure.

Im just gonna update coz my way of thinking is if we leave it and update later the ban might hit the console as soon as we update if the ban wave has already happened by this time, so if you want to use Kinnect on your flashed 360 I would take the update now just to be sure. Otherwise they could dissable the Kinnect feature like they did with the install HD feature. Thats just my presumption. Once ive updated Im taking it offline for good then I will never lose the ability to install to HD, use Kinnect or corrupted game saves.

Couldn't we just download the dash update and install it through a usb stick? It's what i had planned to do with my flashed, unbanned console, that i don't use online.
