will my computer work to flash the benq

:? :? now that i am all ready to flash my xbox 360 benq drive i have been reading almost every thing i can find on this site and others and still don't no if my computer even has the right board or chipset to flash the benq this is what i have found .I don't have information on SCSI only IDE information
I have a dell computer that does support sata because i have a sata harddrive and a second sata connector .Here's some information that i have :

man you could bang your head trying to flash off your mother board sata plug.i would not do that.
i think you should get this card it dont cost that much and will make your flashing much easier.

if you want to try flashing off your mobo then just try to get it to dump.
i would use the iprep 101 v006 in the download.

after you make your usb flash bootable and power down the computer unhook all the other drives.
then boot onto the flash drive.

I was just wondering after reading and backing up the benq firmware is there a way to check if the original firmware has any errors in it just to be safe before dumping it to put the new file on

dumping the firmware will not hurt the drive

once you dump the firmware the check it
use firmware toolbox v4.5 find it here

put the firmware in and look at the key make sure its not the same letter or number.
it should be a lot of different things

most of the via 6421 chipset cards will work.it don't hurt to try and see,with a card the sata closest to the front of the computer is most times the sata port to use.
