Why is it important to do system updates before flashing?

I have a samsung TS-H943 in a old xbox. I just flashed it with LT 1.0, all games work so far. Havent tried any AP2.5 games yet. Nervous, cause i want to try it online but, dont want to get banned.

But it never applied any updates. USB method.

You dont need to update your xbox before flashing.

Some people think you should return your drive to stock before updating, then once you've updated, flash back to whatever firmware. Personally I think thats a waste of time and effort (if your 360 doesnt have a case on it, I guess its not that much of a pain to do).

Your best bet is to wait until LT+ comes out. It should be here very soon. Your samsung will play any game, because the drive itself doesnt support the ap 2.5 check so it wont do it.
