i've read that most burners will work, but i'd like to know if anyone knows for sure if mine will ?
it's a ATAPI DVD A DH16A1L KH1A E: Fibre it has the latest fw for the drive...i checked.
will it work ? i'm guessing it will but i just want to make sure.
also, is there anything i have to do before burning ? other than set the layerbreak in img burn....
what about this booktype thing ? i read an it says "Book Type: DVD-ROM" on the right in imgburn...so im all good right ?
lastly, what about bisetting ? do i have to mess with that on my drive or not ? i don't know how if i have to...so explain to me how.
thanks for any help guys.

Re: DVD Burner Questions.....
Most any Dual Layer burner will work for burning Xbox 360 games. Bitsetting and booktyping means changing the way a DVD-ROM drive reads DVD+R and DVD+R DL media. It "fools" DVD drives into reading the booktype as DVD-ROM, the same as a store bought DVD-ROM. DVD-ROM is the most universally compatible DVD format. Bitsetting DVD+R DL to DVD-ROM is only necessary with older revisions of the Xtreme Firmware. It is a good idea to enable booktyping/bitsetting on your DVD-ROM drive though.
To check if your drive is Dual Layer, go to tools-->drive-->capabilities in ImgBurn. All the supported media types will be checked.
Enabling bitsetting in ImgBurn is very easy, here is a guide for doing it with ImgBurn, check towards the bottom for the booktyping/bitsetting section: viewtopic.php?f=134&t=1358
With ImgBurn 2.0 and later, it is not necessary to manually set the Layer Break. ImgBurn reads the Layer Break directly from the dvd file. So just drag and drop the dvd file into ImgBurn and it will read the Layer Break automatically. Leave the Layer Break as calculate optimal and let ImgBurn load the information from the dvd file.
It's a good idea to shut down all extraneous processes before burning. Open task manager (alt+ctrl+delete) and shut down any unnecessary processes. Shut down stuff like anti-spyware programs, web browsers, anti-virus, IM, P2P. I recommend burning with ImgBurn, it is extremely stable and reliable.

Re: DVD Burner Questions.....

does everything look right ?
so long as it says dvd-rom for the booktype in imgburn on the right as you see...then im fine right ?
i don't have to set bisetting on my dvd drive manually then ?
i think i'm ok.
thanks man.

Re: DVD Burner Questions.....
Yep everything looks good to me. Booktyping must be enabled by default or you enabled it previously; that disc is booktyped.
