jungle flasher will not recognize my liteon 74850c.
I have it hooked up to a blasterck3 via the usb plug and I have the dvd drive open
and ready to use the probe to extract the key. I have tried the tray half way out
and the switches on the blaster to pc and the power on, the green light is lit !
When I go through the drives to try to find this liteon everytime I get to oxobeo
it freezes up. When I click on via ports only it tells me no via ports were found.
Last week I flashed a benq by changing to include non ide ports and I just scrolled
down until I found my drive and the rest was easy. I installed the usb driver for the
ck3 but am I missing something else that is different for the liteon ?
Help from anyone please.

Re: flashing a liteon 74850c with blaster ck3 not recognizing dr
How new is the drive? Has it been flashed before? Do you have any other drives to test JF with to make sure it recognizes anything? What version of JF are you using?

Re: flashing a liteon 74850c with blaster ck3 not recognizing dr
thanks for the reply, the dvd drive is about 2 years old and it has never been flashed ! I am using jf 1.76 beta
Here is something else when I unplug the usb cord from the blasterck3 and hook up
the sata cord it recognizes the drive on 0x0960 but of course there is no com port properties to extract the dvd key to.
Here is everything I have, the box include non-ide ports is checked.
port properties
I/O Address 0x960
Type SATA
Channel Primary
Position Master
Device NVIDIA nFORCE Serial ATA Controller
drive properties
Vendor PLDS
Name DG-16D2S
F/W Rev 7485
Reserved 0CA0A1D608CG91181500
DVD Key Not found
I hope this helps, it tells me that the drive is there and it can be recognized ?
Please let me know, this is driving me crazy...thank you very much.

have a look at this
http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... 195&t=7783" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
you keep saying blaster
this is a blaster
im not sure what you think a blaster is going to do for you
what you need for a first time dump is a ck3 pro or a ck3 lite
and a probe attachment
like shootsteel is using in his vid

Re: flashing a liteon 74850c with blaster ck3 not recognizing dr
Sorry Mr CoFree I meant to say blasterck3 with the probe, I looked at the link,
I am all set when I open jf I get everything that I posted previously but on the right side
of the page there is no com port properties and when I click on the drop down nothing is there.
When I have the usb cord connected from the blasterck3 to my pc usb it all shows up on com 3.
I think I read not to have both the usb and the sata hooked up at the same time.
With the sata I get the drive but not the com port properties and with the usb I get the com
port properties but cant find the drive ? When I use the probe I get a solid green light but I get
failed to open com port dvdkey files extraction aborted. What the heck am I doing wrong ?
Can I have both the sata cord and the usb both hooked up ? then I would have both the liteon
drive properties on the left and the com port properties on the right ? I am also in the process of deleting and reinstalling the usb drivers for the blasterck3, I read somewhere that might help. thanks again.

Re: flashing a liteon 74850c with blaster ck3 not recognizing dr
i have never use a usb cable to dump the info from the drive
i always used the rs232 cable
but
yes i have all cables hooked up
power ,sata, and the rs232 cable
you need to keep in mind that
you dump the drives info from the dvd drive through the usb cable or rs232 cable
and then the flash will go in the sata cable
you have to find the com port the drive is on for dumping
see if you can find a com cable some where
its old school.
you can pick them up super cheap
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... Id=3109713" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
make sure when you do find the right com and dump the drive to always and for ever keep a copy of the files you get
key.dummy and the other files.
then you will always be able to build your hacked firmware and flash the drive without dumping the drive again

Re: flashing a liteon 74850c with blaster ck3 not recognizing dr
Darn , I almost had it. I was able to save everything but I think there was a problem after erasing
and before writing ?? getting real close. I am assuming that the correct firmware for this liteon is ltplus-748.bin ? need a little help with these last couple steps. When I go back to the beginning
and the dvd 32 key the drive is now gone, I believe it is in the vendor mode whatever that is ?
What is the process to pull up what I saved and try again to erase and write ?
I pulled up the folder where I thought everything was saved and I found lite_CFW.bin
Identify.bin and inquiry.bin I could have sworn I clicked save about 5 times ?

Re: flashing a liteon 74850c with blaster ck3 not recognizing dr
does the drive eject now or is it locked up
if it does eject then you just need to write
if it is locked up,i would say your via drivers is what medded up the flash
the you did the erase and there is no firmware in the dvd drive
you will have to do a recover if that is what happened
here is a vid to do a recover

Re: flashing a liteon 74850c with blaster ck3 not recognizing dr
For the sake of others I've gotta say, SLOW DOWN. So many times I hear about people rushing into this. They find bits and pieces of info here and there and THINK they know what's going on when really they're headed for trouble. Lite-ons are tricky, even the most experienced modder can jack up a lite-on. I hope you get it working, and feel free to continue posting. Just remember to take your time and understand the process before you get started.
